Truth Whisperer - by Neems

My Body Beautiful

Today let’s make a pact that we will no longer succumb to the malicious images we have of our bodies. The brutal mental prison within our minds has long since been a battlefield bloodied by a dangerously false perception of what a perfect body should look like in the eyes of society.

Today let’s break free and start to love every bump, every curve and every inch of our bodies beautiful.

Why? Because it’s about time women woke up and realised that we need to see our bodies as a magnificent gift we’ve been given. Our bodies are the perfect havens that house the most important part of us- our souls.

We put our bodies through so much mental and physical bashing. We overeat, we starve, we pump ourselves full of junk food and sometimes nearly kill ourselves with alcohol and drugs, and yet, our body constantly does its best to stand by us. For me, my body has been right there for the last 25 years, absorbing every blow and thriving in every triumph like an eternally loyal friend.

So don’t we owe it our body to treat it well? To love it like it’s our most precious possession? We tend to take great care of a brand new house by coating the exterior with protective paint. We take great pride in a brand new car and feed it with only the best form of petrol and lovingly polish it in the morning. So why do we not see our bodies as important enough to nurture?

The media and society haven’t made this an easy road to travel upon. Past experiences can have a ferocious grip and it’s hard to let go of personal traumas. Body image is seemingly everything in our world that is hell-bent on superficial perceptions.

We have chosen to define ourselves by what we look like and this has given free reign to mental diseases that flourish in a weakened state of mind and massive superiority complexes which have resulted in racism and violence.

But when you sit still and think about it for a minute, you’ll realise that our souls have nothing to do with how fat, thin, white, black or hairy we may be. Our souls are who we truly are. Our bodies are merely the vehicles in which our souls travel in. And like any car, it needs to be kept in shape, healthily fuelled and with regular maintenance checks, to ensure its passenger will travel safely on the journey they are currently on.

Make that change today and love your body beautiful.

proctor here, good luck with the blog Neema, do the name justice the controversial truths and thoughtful challenges to accepted ideas i tried to post here may in the future be looked upon unfavorably by the government in the American society whose next move may be to remove people who have dissenting opinions about fascism, and this culture of fear has caused me not to write anymore here or anywhere online. But that is ok, writing is only the first step of change. As my last comment, i'll say to America, beauty is truth, truth is beauty. Good day orble.

Heya Proctor!

For all their talk of a free nation they certainly love their gag orders don't they.

I loved the blog name...can't say my motivation for it is right along the lines of yours but I'll do my best!

Cheers,

Neems
